ST. JUDE -- "WHEELS FOR LIFE"
2006 The 10th Annual

The date for this ride is Saturday, October 21, 2006

Located in Memphis, Tennessee, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital opened its doors in 1962.  It has treated more than 17,000 patients from across America and 60 foreign countries.  It is the leading research hospital in the world for treating catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude does not ask for the parents to pay for any treatment that is not covered by their insurance. If they don't have insurance, they have to pay nothing.

TBC has participated in this event along with the Longview Bicycle Club since 1996, and has raised over $11,000.00.  Everyone is encouraged to get corporate sponsorship from the companies or businesses you work for to support this worthy cause.  You can ask friends to donate $5.00 each.

The ride starts in the parking lot at Super One on Gentry and Beckham at 8:30 a.m. and heads north to Hawkins.  We ride to Jewel's Cafe in Hawkins, eat breakfast, then ride around Lake Hawkins, and back to Tyler.  The whole ride is about 52 miles, but you can leave off the Lake Hawkins part, which is about 16 miles, or you can take your vehicle to Jewel's Cafe and just do the Lake Hawkins circle.
