Considering the Tyler Bicycle Club's very loose ties to royalty via the annual True Grit Bicycle Tour at Queen Wilhelmina State Park in Arkansas, it is only fitting that the Tyler Bicycle Club adopt the Royal Coat of Arms of the kingdom of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands for the duration of Madam Presidente Galén's reign. The motto inscribed on the the Royal Coat of Arms, "JE MAINTIENDRAI," is highly apropos for it means "I will maintain." |
The coronation ceremony of the new reigning Queen of the Tyler Bicycle Club, "Madam Presidente Galén," was a lively, colorful, and splendiferous event held in the luxuriant Hibbs' Castle and conducted by the former president William Cornelius, Esq. After the annual feast, the royal crier summoned the audience to the lavishly decorated ceremonial chamber where merits of superiority were bestowed upon contenders exhibiting exceptional prowess in the annual Trial of the Rude Dog. The coronation commenced with the entrance of the Sovereign wearing a stunning red attire trimmed in holiday green. A poetic moment followed, delivered by William Cornelius, Esq. in a distinct synchronized style with those in attendance paying homage by joining in at regular intervals. The ceremony proceeded with the formal presentation of the royal ornaments, consisting of a jeweled crown and earrings, and by the adornment of the royal banner proclaiming her status. Her gracious majesty exuded a strong sense of duty and diligence and was greeted with honest enthusiasm and immediately won the adulation of her subjects. The former president, William Cornelius, Esq., now assumes the role of Queen Galén's consort, which involves assisting her majesty in her work and in carrying out ceremonial engagements. All can rest assured she will dispatch her queenly duties with great candor, efficiency, and dignity, and will exercise justice with mercy.
